Tony Stark dies in the comics

He made the ultimate sacrifice in "Avengers: Endgame": The superhero sacrificed himself for the survival of his friends (and half of the living beings in our universe). And after “Spider Man Far From Home”, the Marvel universe opened a new chapter: Without Iron Man, without Captain America. But it looks like Tony Stark may be back with us soon.

While Stark's dramatic death raised the question of how on earth could that person be replaced, it looks like Robert Downey Jr. is returning to the Marvel family for a new Disney show.

A report suggests that Marvel is developing a series based on Ironheart, the teenage genius who continues Tony Stark's work in the Marvel comics.

Downey Jr. would not come back completely, however, as a whole person: The role gets a voice-over, similar to Paul Bettany's character JARVIS.

Tony Stark as AI

In Marvel lore, the character of Ironheart, also known as Riri Williams, is introduced when Stark is in a coma. It is trained by an AI that is controlled by Stark himself.

Some time ago, Downey Jr. appeared at a gala with "Ironheart" comic book writer Eve Ewing, where he expressed his support for the character and stood up for Ironheart as Iron Man's successor.
