In World of Warcraft: Shadowlands, the dear gold will again play a major role: Not only do you need it to buy components for the new legendary items from other players, you can also use it to store many luxury items such as the extremely expensive dealers -Mounts purchase.

In addition, you can invest your gold stocks in WoW brands (current price: 206,000 gold), which add 13 euros to your Battle.net account - so you can cover the monthly subscription costs or even collect enough money to buy a game.

In this article we will show you how you can make a lot of gold in Shadowlands. For all further tips on Shadowlands, which are particularly valuable for beginners and returnees, you can have a look at our guide:

Fluctuating prices!
The prices for the items mentioned in this article vary from server to server - the more crowded the server, the lower the price. We therefore state the current average price of all European servers, the source is The Undermine Journal (as of April 7, 2021)

Herbs & Ores

One of the best ways to make money on the auction house is through Craft resource farms. Although the prices are not as high as they were at the beginning of the expansion, you can farm and sell the resources quite easily.

Herbalism: Currently the prices for the new Shadowlands herbs on the European servers are still in the range between 10 and 100 gold per piece. Above all, the rather rare nightshade and the widow's blossom, which you can farm in Revendreth, give you a high double-digit amount of gold.

Mining: For ores that can be extracted in the mining industry, the prices are at a somewhat low level between 2 and 60 gold - only the rare elethium ore is currently pulling out at around 139 gold per piece.

Our tip: Get the GatherMate 2 addon, because it shows you all the places where the resources can spawn. In the following article we explain where you can find it and how to install it:

leather

Especially furriers can currently earn a golden nose, as the materials are used for many legendarys. Especially the heavy horn bellow comes at a really good price with 500 to 600 gold per piece. The grief leather, on the other hand, is less attractive with 3 gold per piece and 35 gold per piece for the heavy gram leather.

We have marked two places for you on the map of the Ardenwald where you can always find enough enemies to farm:

In the Ardenwald you can farm grief leather at the marked places.

Legendarys

Instead of selling your acquired craft resources directly in the auction house, you can also collect them to make vessels for Legandarys and level them up. The vessels are tradable and, depending on their rank, achieve a high amount of gold in the auction house.

While rank 1 brings you a four-digit amount of gold per vessel, with rank 4 you can even bag more than one hundred thousand gold pieces - depending on which item you craft.

Rare mounts

If you don't want to learn any of the farm skills of mining, skinning and herbalism, you can still earn plenty of gold at the moment - by looking for rare mounts. Some of the lootable mounts that you can find on opponents in the previous expansion, Battle for Azeroth, are still very popular and guarantee a successful sale.

However, the drop rate here is very low and varies between 0.01 and 0.2 percent - so you have to knock down thousands of enemies to get one of the coveted animals. So it's better to have a good audio book or an exciting TV series ready in advance!

Current: Nobelgarten Festival

The Nobelgarten Festival is currently taking place in WoW. Here you have the chance with a little effort to get a rare mount called Schneller Frühlingschreiter, which you can sell well in the auction house after the event is over. Seeltas Gaming explains how this works in his video:

Scared pack mule

The cute donkey is currently worth 218,000 gold pieces and can be found in the Drustvar region. Here you have to kill bewitched falconers, bewitched guardsmen, bewitched soldiers, bewitched halberdiers and bewitched crossbowmen to have the chance of a successful drop. The drop chance is 0.01 - 0.03 percent per knocked down opponent.

You can find the enemies in the following place:

Great sea rays

Those who prefer to go fishing instead of riveting thousands of enemies can go in search of the great sea ray. The rare mount is particularly valuable because it can also be used underwater - its price is currently around 250,000 gold.

To catch the ray, you just have to cast your fishing rod on any open body of water in Battle for Azeroth - the Drustvar area promises the highest chance of success with a drop rate of 0.07 percent.

Gold mane

You can also find the enchanting pony Goldmähne among enemies in the regions of Battle for Azeroth - more precisely among Stormsong fans in Stormsong Valley. The horse is currently worth 200,000 gold pieces, so a successful sale can finance you a month of playing time right away. The chance of a drop is between 0.07 and 0.1 percent.

On the following map you will find two places marked where I find many followers of Lord Stormsong:

Of course you can earn gold with many other methods, such as farming transmog items or investing and selling in items from the auction house.
