Highly qualified graduates in industrial engineering are an important factor for companies in global competition. Specialists at the interface between technology and business issues are urgently needed in order to cope with the foreseeable economic and social challenges. The overarching goal of the master's degree in industrial engineering, “Master of Science in industrial engineering”, is therefore to qualify for independent, scientifically sound project work in the fields of industrial engineering and related subjects.

The core of the course is the implementation of a practice-oriented research project for a period of three semesters. The future Master's should be qualified for independent, scientifically sound project work, improve interdisciplinary key qualifications through practical experience and acquire profound problem-solving skills. The student works in a team in a research network of leading companies and universities and receives individual support from the professor in charge of the project. This ideally meets the demands of the labor market for highly qualified engineers with project experience.
