Find your password for your WiFi network in Windows

If you have forgotten the password for your WiFi network, you can find it on another Windows PC that is already connected to your WiFi network. After you have found your password, you can use it on another PC or device to connect to the WiFi network.

  1. On a Windows PC that is connected to the Wi-Fi network, do one of the following, depending on the version of Windows your PC is running:

    • In Windows 10, select the Start button and then Settings > Network and internet > status  > Network and sharing center.

    • Search on Windows 8.1 or 7 Network and and choose Network and sharing center from the list of results.

  2. In the Network and Sharing Center, select next to links the name of the WLAN network.

  3. Select under the WLAN status Wireless properties out.

  4. In the properties for the wireless network, select the tab security and then the check box show signs out.
    Your Wi-Fi network password is displayed in the Network Security Key field.
