10 technologies that should go away

10 technologies that should go away
    Posted by Bruce Sterling

Technologies come, technologies go - or when was the last time you saw a covered wagon? - but they are seldom specifically selected and sentenced to death. But some technologies are so obviously obnoxious that humanity would be happy if they didn't exist. A smart society would reward young innovators as they strive to eradicate useless technologies invented by earlier, less advanced generations.

I would have one more addition: batteries!
No matter which one you take, the price / performance ratio is never right. And when you have children, things get really expensive!

You speak from my heart, Jürg.

Christmas was horror when it came to batteries. Good thing I got a charger beforehand.

I particularly like manned space travel, at least because one is still not sure today whether anyone has really ever been to the moon:

Sounds good and right, only the consequences if some technologies are abolished could be more damaging than the benefits resulting from them .....

I saw this program too, it's almost embarrassing for NASA. The conspiracy theorists have some evidence that is not just out of hand.

One wonders, does the USA even exist .....?

So you mean the US is the 11th invention to go away?

    @ Cello

Yes, in any case, certain parts (people) of the USA.
One wonders again what will happen on September 11, 01
exactly happened, or rather who had a hand in it.
