The new iPhone has Siri

Use Siri on all Apple devices

Ask Siri to send a message on your iPhone, play your favorite TV show on Apple TV, or start a workout on Apple Watch. Siri is your personal assistant who helps you with everything in everyday life and is available on all Apple devices. All you have to do is ask.

On the iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch

Here are a few ways you can talk to Siri.

Say "Hey Siri"

Just say "Hey Siri" and then immediately say what you want. For example, you can say, "Hey Siri, what's the weather like today?"

Press and release the button

  • On iPhone X or later, press the side button, then submit your request immediately.
  • For iPad Pro models without a Home button, press the top button and submit your request immediately.
  • If your device has a home button, press it, then immediately say what you want.

Would you like to make a longer request? Just hold down the button you use to activate Siri until you've made your request.

On the Apple Watch

Here are a few ways you can talk to Siri.

Say "Hey Siri"

Lift your wrist or tap the screen on your Apple Watch. When the watch wakes up, say, "Hey Siri," and then immediately say what you want.

Lift up to speak

With watchOS 5 and later and Apple Watch Series 3 or later, you don't have to say "Hey Siri". Just hold your watch to your mouth and say what you want.

Press the Digital Crown

Briefly press and hold the Digital Crown, then tell Siri what you want.

Would you like to make a longer request? Just hold down the Digital Crown until you've made your request.

On the HomePod

Here are a few ways you can talk to Siri.

Say "Hey Siri"

Just say "Hey Siri" and then immediately say what you want.

Press the top of the HomePod

Squeeze the top of HomePod and make your request.

Would you like to make a longer request? Just hold down the top of the HomePod until you've made your request.

HomePod is not available in all countries or regions.

On the Mac

Here are a few ways you can talk to Siri.

Press the Siri button

  • On a MacBook Pro with a Touch Bar, press the Siri buttonon the Touch Bar, then submit your request.
  • On macOS Sierra and later, click the Siri button in the menu bar or in the dock. Then tell Siri what you want.
  • To make a longer request, press and hold the Siri button until you have made your request.

If Siri doesn't close automatically, click Close in the window.
