Skype launches instant translation service voice calls

Skype has launched a service Translator (”Translator”), which allows real-time to translate it into the conversation. This is stated in an official statement. Initially the service will be available for six languages: English, French, German, Italian, Chinese and Spanish.

“Skype Translator helps to communicate with people from different countries, overcoming language barriers. Just a voice or video call organize and start communicating with speakers of other languages”, - the company promises.

BBC Russian Service reports that the Translator is the hallmark of machine learning: the more people will use the service, the more correct translation would work.

The company also runs the automatic translation of text messages - this service will support more than 50 languages.
