In the US, SpaceX was able to drop to the ground after the start of the first stage of its rocket

American company SpaceX on Monday for the first time succeeded in controlled descent to the ground level of the bottom of its launch vehicle Falcon 9, to save it for reuse. This was stated by company officials. Representatives of the United States National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) has congratulated the company with a successful operation.

The Falcon 9 was launched from the spaceport at Cape Canaveral (Florida). It must be put into orbit 11 commercial telecommunications satellite communications.

SpaceX believes that the re-use of the first stage of the rocket will allow it to reduce the cost of commercial launches. Two previous attempts to keep step, during which it fell in the giant offshore platform, were unsuccessful. Once the landing was too tight and caused an explosion of residual fuel, and another time a storm prevented the display platform exactly at the scheduled place and spent element carrier fell into the water.

However, SpaceX engineers are convinced that these efforts have demonstrated the ability to manage the landing stage just in a specific location. In the future, the company would like to do and reusable upper stage of its launch. However, this will happen only after the commissioning of a new generation of carrier Falcon, which are still only in the initial stage of development

In late November, a similar operation has successfully completed another American private company Blue Origin, developed the New Shepard spacecraft for suborbital flights. After launch and delivery unit at a height of about 100 km of its single-stage rocket, including brake motor, it fell to the ground in an upright position. Guide congratulates SpaceX Blue Origin, but argued that it faces a difficult task due to the design features of the Falcon 9.
Communications satellites displayed on the target orbit

All 11 commercial telecommunications satellites that were launched by a launch vehicle Falcon 9, successfully launched into preset orbit, the company said.

The satellites are manufactured by the American company Orbcomm. Initially, SpaceX expected to launch on Sunday, but experts took more time to prepare.

Held on Monday the launch of a modified version of the Falcon 9 was the first after the disaster, which occurred on June 28. Then the support of a cargo ship Dragon burst after about two and a half minutes after launch. Space truck was supposed to deliver to the ISS for about 2 tons of cargo, including food, equipment and materials for scientific experiments.

After the incident, temporarily suspended the use of SpaceX Falcon 9 flights. As the company learned after the investigation, the cause of the explosion was an accident rocket tank with liquid oxygen at the top level of the carrier. Thereafter, the Falcon 9 has been transformed and improved.
